About the Programme

Serve 2Gather: Volunteer Leaders for Winter Home Care Kit Delivery and Deep Cleaning Service for Elderly

Hong Kong’s ageing population is growing rapidly and many elderly residents in public housing face isolation and health challenges. This November, step up as a Volunteer Leader to support and facilitate high school students from American International School (AIS) and Discovery Bay International School (DBIS) to bring warmth and care to vulnerable elderly households.

Target Beneficiaries: Around 50 vulnerable elderly living in public housing estates

Role and Responsibilities

Ensure Safety and Quality: Supervise high school students from international schools, ensuring their safety and that the delivery process is smooth and well-organised.
Provide Guidance: Support students in engaging warmly and proactively with elderly residents, and assist in clearly explaining the contents and use of the winter kits.
Encourage Meaningful Interaction: Motivate students to connect with beneficiaries in a respectful and empathetic manner, helping the elderly feel comfortable and valued throughout the visit.

Requirements:

Age: 18 years old or above
Language skills: Bilingual and fluent in Cantonese and English to ensure effective communication with high school students, staff, and elderly beneficiaries
Attributes:

- Proactive and communicative
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills
Fulfill the briefing and training requirements:
- Attend a mandatory online briefing session (6 p.m. – 7 p.m.) on 4 November (Wed) or 5 November (Thu)
- Complete HFH's online safeguarding training before the event.

Application deadline: 26 October (Monday). Successful applicants will be notified via email on or before 30 October 2026 (Friday).
