University YMCA (HKU) is launching the Project PLAY - Promoting Play Right for Kids’ Holistic Development (「童」遊「家」FUN ── 兒童玩樂權利推廣計劃) from January to March 2023, with the objectives of promoting the importance of play in the healthy development of children and fostering positive and harmonious relationship for grassroot families through a series of programmes, including an overnight wild camp with grassroot families and a public carnival.
We are now recruiting "Children's Play Rights Ambassadors" to join hands with us! Details are as follows:
Programme Details
Activity 1: “FAM-tastic Adventure” Overnight Wild Camp with Grassroot Families 「『營』聚溫馨」親子元宵露營夜
Beneficiaries: 20 grassroot families from Kwun Tong district
Training Day & Briefing Day for Campers: 28 Jan 2023 (Sat) 12:30-17:00 @ Lam Tin
Overnight Wild Camp: 4-5 Feb 2023 (Sat-Sun) @ Sai Kung
Content: team-building activities, camp games, campfire
Activity 2: “Kidstopia for All” Community Playground and Carnival 「『童』遊.樂園」社區嘉年華
Task: Organise booth games with the grassroot families for promoting play to the public
Preparation Meeting with Ambassadors: 15 Feb 2023 (Wed) 19:00-22:00 @ HKU
Reunion Day with Families: 25 Feb 2023 (Sat) 14:30-17:30 @ Lam Tin
Community Carnival: 19 Mar 2023 (Sun) 10:00-19:00 @ Central & Western District (TBC)
Target No. of People to be Reached: 1,500 from the public
Fee: $50 + $100 Deposit*
*Refundable upon completion of the programme with satisfactory performance.

Reward:
Ambassadors contributing for 50 HOURS OR MORE would receive a certificate and are eligible to apply for 2 CREDITS of the Credit Award Scheme for Out-of-classroom Learning Experiences.
Remarks:
Exemption may apply to participants who are able to provide written proofs (such as unavoidable academic reasons/sick leave) in case they are unable to attend any session of the programme. University & College YMCA Department of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong reserves the right of final decision for any disputes.
